Printing queue stalls in CUPS FC6 with networked HP1320n

Hi,
I have a HP1320n connected via a home network router using ethernet. I can print from both desktop and wireless laptop but here's the odd thing. In any computing session, the first document to print fails. It goes into the print queue, but unless I cancel it from the queue, neither it nor anything else will print. This happens whatever document I try and print. Once the first item has been printed then everything works normally. Until the next computing session that is. Going into CUPS and restarting the printer kicks thinks into play as well. But on the desktop PC I don't get a print queue icon so I have to go via CUPS with root login. Hardly ideal each time I want to print. Anyone else had this problem? Anyone know how to solve it?

Thanks
Jacek

6 months on - still no solution?

Hi all,
Just a little push.
For my part I don't know where to begin, whether it is the printer driver or CUPS that is to blame.

So, if anyone knows an easy way to 'wake up' a network connected printer, that information might be of help here.

Thanks
Jacek
