Printing

Hi all!
I want to print with my Epson 580 USB in slackware.
The kernel detects the printer.

Ok, I built the following software (In this order)
Ghostscript 7.04 with the following ./configure options
./configure --prefix=/usr --with-gimp-print --with-ijs --with-x

Gimp-Print 4.3.3
--prefix=/usr

I use the APSFILTER that came with slackware 8.1

Ok, so I run ./SETUP for apsfilter, and go to the choose driver area.

I choose gimp-print / stp
then I choose my printer (number 41)

Then it tells me
Error: Your gs version doesn't have driver "stp" compiled in...
Select another driver or build a new gs version with complete or customized
driver support.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks a Million!

PS, I tried the "Official Epson Drivers" too in the Printer Driver Selection area (12 - Epson Stylus Color 580 {png+pips} [pips/sc580]), when I select them, it gives no errors, but trying to print a test page gives me ERROR: additional filter 'pips-sc580' was not found;
can't create test page
. Doing 'locate pips' gives me ;
/usr/share/apsfilter/driver/pips
/usr/share/apsfilter/driver/pips/sc20s
/usr/share/apsfilter/driver/pips/sc40s
/usr/share/apsfilter/driver/pips/sc480
/usr/share/apsfilter/driver/pips/sc580
/usr/share/apsfilter/driver/pips/sc60s
/usr/share/apsfilter/driver/pips/sc680_777
/usr/share/apsfilter/driver/pips/sc70s
/usr/share/apsfilter/driver/pips/sc80s
/usr/share/apsfilter/driver/pips/sc880
/usr/share/apsfilter/driver/pips/sc980

Hi everyone!
I'll just answer this question myself.

What I did was to remove the GS that I installed (GNU Ghostscript 7.04), and install CUPS, and ESP GS (Ghostscript made by the same people who make CUPS). Logged into localhost:631, configured the printer, and voila!! It works!!

It took a few hours of fiddling, but I got there
