Printer Support for Canon i255 USB

Hi!

I am using Mandrake 9.2 with the 2.4.23 kernel. I would like to know if anyone has any idea about the support for the above-mentioned printer. I know turbo print is supposed to work with i250, but it seems it doesn't work with i255. Also, more fundamentally, can anyone tell me the difference between the 2 printers? It seems the only place they sell i255 is in Asia, where I am. I am fairly frustrated now, since each time I have documents to print I have to boot into Windows. Thanks!

Regards

Yep...

You can get a driver for this from the Canon New Zeland web site.
Go to drivers downloads for i250.

There is the driver for the i255 bundled in with the i250
You will need the cups filter module...

Once you've installed this, restart cups (or your machine) and it will appear in the configure printer gui...

let me know if you need more help with this...

Note: For those with a canon i350, sorry this driver does not work for i350... I have tried... I am now resurecting my old HP, I don't believe in paying for printer drivers (turboprint), goes against the principle of linux for me...
