Printer problem

Hello, first off I am a linux newbie who needs step-by-step instructions for installing an Epson Stylus Color 880. The printer is shared on a Windows 2000 machine. I should have everything I need installed, as I did a full install of Mandrake 9.1, but I may not, so please list what I would need and how to check if I have it and where I could get it. I thank anyone who takes the time to help me with this, I know how frustrating it can be helping newbies sometimes, I've found the joy in helping Windows newbies myself. Again, thank you.

yea, I looked through that website. It said that the best thing for me to use is gimp-print, but I think that site assumes the printer is connected locally. My printer is networked through a Windows 2000 machine. Also, it didn't really give me good instructions for configuring gimp-print. Any ideas? Thanks for your help.

Have you installed SAMBA?
I believe that CUPS uses SAMBA to access windows printers
