Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Question Printer Issue with Samba

Hey Everbody

I'm a newbie and so this is a bit of a challenge to me. What I have is a network of roughly 100 people who use Macs, WinXP and Linux. I have 1 PDC that is using SAMBA and 1 New Printer.

What I want to do is set it up so that if needed I can have the printer available as a networked printer to be available to add to any of the OSes mentioned above. I've already added the information to the end of the cupsd.conf file but don't know what else I need to do.

I know somehow that the drivers wind up on \\PDC\print$ (or is it $print) but have no idea how to ge them there.

Please advise further.

Thank you for your time
