printer for centos

Hi, I would like to buy a printer which I could share throughout my house via samba. I currently serve up files on a centos 6 system so logically, the printer will exist on the same samba server. As well as printing, a major focus these days is scanning documents as I tend to scan my docs so I have an electronic copy.

A printer I have seen is the HP5520 model and I have heard linux & HP go well together. Has anyone got this printer working under centos/redhat? Has anyone got this printer working under linux? If yes, how was the install process? A quick flick through the HP site suggests I need to update HPLIP which currently sits at 3.12.4-4 whereas the 5520 needs 3.12.6. I guess this is a simple "yum remove" then use the package manager to instal the new version?

Failing comments on this model thoughts on any other compatible printers would be helpful.

Cheers
