Not had that problem.

If you get the opportunity to "cancel" it, then thats what I'd do.

Followed by a visit to the software manager (Urpmi a.k.a. RPMDrake+) and add anything that is to do with cups and foomatic. Then try to use the kde printer manager to add the printer - you might have to use a "generic" series driver e.g. for my photosmart 8450 I use the 8400 series driver when offered by the wizard - if the kde print manager doesn't work, then you might have to use cups directly - which you'd access via your browser - I think (sorry I can't recall exactly as it's been a while since I did this) it's http://localhost:631 and you'd usually have to use root as the username and the root password and follow their wizard to install it.

Hopefully thats clear enough to enable you to install the printer.

regards

John

Alternatively, instead of installing all the stuff mentioned above, try installing hplip. It should install all the CUPS stuff with it. If it doesn't do it, try what above poster recommends.

No DVD? But how did you managed to install the whole system without DVD/CD????
Please configure RPM Drake first (Software installing programm).

Ha ha!, I'd clean forgotten about hplip (or at a push, the older hpoj) stuff! Ah well, at least you remembered.
