Printer Configuration/Printerdrake Problem

I'm trying to configure my HP PSC-500 on mandrakelinux10.1. When I try to add my printer Printerdrake always tries to install new packages(I can't find my mandrake cd's to intall them) and I can go ahead without them, but at the end when it tries to configure, it says failed to configure printer. What and where are these packages?

If I can remember correctly, Mandy is probably wanting to install Cups; if this is the first printer you are installing. If you can not find your CD's, you have two options.

1. Download and burn another set. ( or find the lost ones).

2. Set up URPMI. This is by far the best way to go. You will have access to lots of software, and you can maintain your system with the latest updates. Here is a link to set up URPMI.

If you have not installed any updates, that is probably the place to start. It may take you a while, but I would recommend it.
