Printer cancels jobs

I have a EPSON stylus C64 printer set up with the gimpprint drivers and cupsys. It has worked perfectly until i did an apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade. Then my printer stopped working, so i purged the cupsys and reinstalled. Now i have it all looking good, except that the printer immediately cancels printing jobs. Anyone know what i could have done wrong? Everything seems to work well, except that the printer cancels the job right after sending it, it happens in all the programs i have. Help please.
