Thanks guys for the replies
There is paper in the tray! That was one of the first things I checked lol.
The driver I am using is this one from linuxprinting.org:
http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_pr...amsung-ML-1710
And I'm quite sure it is configed for USB and not parallel. Here's my printers.conf:
Code:
<DefaultPrinter ML1710>
Info Samsung ML-1710
Location Office
DeviceURI usb://Samsung/ML-1710
State Idle
Accepting Yes
JobSheets none none
QuotaPeriod 0
PageLimit 0
KLimit 0
</Printer>
Now, I've played around with it for a bit, and I've come to notice a few things. I can print from the command line using something like:
Code:
lp -d ML1710 /usr/etc/cups/printers.conf
I can also print from KDE applications (Konqueror, Kwrite, etc.). However, the test print from the CUPS web interface still is not working, even though it shows the job as "Completed". I am unable to print from OpenOffice.org. I launced the program from a command prompt, and noticed the following error when I tried to print:
Code:
/home/carnage/.kde/share/config/gtkrc:37: error: unexpected identifier `gtk-alternative-button-order', expected keyword - e.g. `style'
FATAL: Could not configure the printing system backend!
lpr: Could not initialize LPP printing system
Attempting to print from Mozilla Firefox fails as well.
I'm at a loss as to why some applications will print while others fail.
