Anyone know a trick to get my Epson L351 to print to both page edges?
Normally, I just print text on A4, but now I need to print a coloured block across the whole top of the page, touching the top and the edges. I am using Inkscape. I have various page formats, but the larger formats just cause the print job to stop, no error message.
I tried making a custom paper 6mm wider and longer than I needed, because I can print to the edge on the right of the page, but not the left. The print ob stops, no error message.
Seems the printer won't accept custom sizes. Any tips out there?
I don't have an Epson any more, but all the printers I've used have had by default a bit around the edges where they would not print. Have you checked the printer's docs?
Thanks a lot. Didn't quite do the trick, but gave me an idea. In the print dialogue, there is a tab Pagesetup, which takes its orders from Inkscape, and then again there is a tab Advanced. I thought I only needed that if I wanted to scale the printout. It was set to 'Off'. I found, if I set the paper there to US Legal 8.5" X 14" and the same in Inkscape Document Properties, I can print what I want. Afterwards, I can use my paper cutter to trim it to A4 size. US Legal is 5.9mm wider than A4, which is just the limit for this printer on the left hand side of the paper. It will not print closer than 6mm from the left edge.
This printer is by default set to A4 and doesn't seem to be able to handle custom sizes at all. However, if the Document Page setup and the Advanced tab Pagesetup are the same, it will print.
Moral of the story: buy a more expensive printer! Thanks again!
Epson Photo printer usually support border less printing but some don't. Some non-photo models also supported border less printing.
Please see the printer specs.
