Print Server

Hi

Has anyone got a Netgear PS101 print server to work under Linux? I've tried as many combinations as I can and am getting nowhere.

I'm running Mandriva 2006 PowerPack and have all updates.

If It's anything like the netgear PS110 (which I assume it is), you need to set it up as a unix LPD printer and use the device name on the print server as the device name and P1 as the queue. My print server has two ports, P1 and P2, so I'd guess yours would be P1, but I'm not sure.

You can try, on a windows system, downloading Bi-Admin from netgear and have it inspect the print server and it's ports.

Thanks for the response.

I've finally wittled it down to my Guarddog firewall. The PS101 now works as a TCP printer having added its port to the firewall as a custom port.
