PP Scanner on FC5 - Help needed please

Can anybody help me get my parallel port scanner woking properly, please? It's a Plustek Opticpro P12, and I'm trying to make it work on Fedora Core 5.

I've followed guidence that I've found on the web, and modifed /etc/sane.d/dll.conf so that everything is commented out except the line 'plustek_pp'. This results in the scanner working perfectly as root, but not at all as user.

As user, scanimage says no SANE devices found, and starting xsane tells me that no devices are available.

Is there another file to modify to make xsane see it as user?

Any help appreciated.

If the group scanner exists you could add your user name to that.
