power button sleep/gnome

Hi!

I have an Asus M2400N laptop with debian etch. I have redefined the power button to put the computer to sleep using ACPI: I have changed /etc/acpi/events/powerbtn to have the last line as 'action=/etc/acpi/hibernate.sh'.

Everything works fine, except when I push the power button, gnome (2.14) asks me whether I want to shut down/reboot/logout. I have to hit cancel when I power the computer up again.

I have been unable to figure out how to explain gnome just to ignore the power button. Where are the corresponding gnome config files? How can I change the default actions, corresponding to the keys? Is there a better way to define a sleep button instead of tinkering with ACPI?

Thanks in advance.
