possible to control volume with touchpad?

I'd like to control the sound volume through a "two finger horizontal scroll" on my synaptics touchpad - is it possible?

i can enable the two finger horisontal scroll and other stuff in this file:
/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-synaptics.conf

but that only enables it to work as intended - a horizontal scroll - but is it possible to redirect this to change system sound volume?

Cheers

Maybe the Touchégg project could help, you can assign a gesture to a command. I've never used it before, but it looks like it can handle what you need.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it seems Touchegg doesnt work on debian - the utouch dependencies it relies on only exists for ubuntu - seems to alse be something with the debian X server not supporting "X Gesture Extension".

Anybody knows how to make this work on debian?
