portable cd-rw/dvd-rom drive gcc-5240p doesn't work under linux?
 

Hello world!
I have since some months ago the combo cd-rw/dvd-rom unit connected by pcmcia to my laptop. I can't find the way to do it works under linux and then i must to have a partition with windows for used it, thing that i don't like so much.
I have read in this forum somebody has the same problem, but any response follows it and i can't contact with this person becouse he doesn't want peapol to send email to him. Also, the post is so old, then i post again the question. If somebody knows how to do it works i would be really thankfull.
I'm finishing computing engineering and i have to do my final projet, then if there are nobody who does it works, i would like to know too, then it would be a good work as my final projet.
