Please some advice on Linux vs Android

If it's not too much trouble excuse the absence of learning. I've been following the equipment of this the most recent 2 years too perusing these gatherings for aprox 6months. I just begun playing with my new XU+E and cherish it. I was simply wanting to get some exhortation/sentiments on a couple of things. I realize this fluctuates relying upon what a clients true objective is, yet I think with the majority of the diverse territories of virtuoso here I could get some great contribution from diff minds.

1-What is the real contrast of clients that utilization Android OS versus Linux? I eventually needed to make this as near a work station as could be allowed, so certainly need to run Linux as my fundamental OS. The reason I'm torn is from perusing excessively I think. I started to get the believing the Android OS runs better with less issues by and large; that these Linux manufactures are a work in advancement and this XU has changed many things versus the X and U models, appearing to begin these Linux works from half scratch. With that, would anyone be able to please give me their recommendation and assessments regarding this matter? Maybe the pluses and minuses of each. Possibly a few instances of why clients may pick one over the other.

2-My next inquiry is double booting this infant with every alternative. I have the 16gb emmc with the processing plant picture sent. I likewise have my very own 16gb(cl10) small scale sd as versatile stockpiling/or second os. I am inclining toward Linux, so at last need to ensure that picture is on the emmc. So my inquiry is, in the event that I need to investigate the two choices, by what method would it be a good idea for me to set this up? My cerebrum needs to put Linux on my emmc spending half or somewhere in the vicinity, and Android on the other half. Like a double boot alternative I use on my Macs and PCs. I envision this is in a string some place so I'm sad on the off chance that I didn't find that. I'd love a connection provided that this is true. On the off chance that it's conceivable I'd love to have every OS utilizing 8gb of this emmc each, and simply utilize outside capacity for both. The other reason I'm asking is I've seen others show the Android picture appears to have strength issues notwithstanding running on a class10 card. So on the off chance that I can't double boot this off only the emmc, would I introduce Linux on the smaller scale sd and leave android os on the emmc? I'm feeling like not utilizing Android if so, as I intend to run and dev utilizing the Linux more often than not. The other reason I wish to double boot, beside speed utilizing the emmc, isn't upsetting the minute jumper on the board while tricking between the two OS's.

3-My last inquiry, is for any clients that do utilize Linux, is possibly any breakdown or distinction clients like/despise over another. I'm more attached to Ubuntu, however completely open to utilizing any of the distros that are the most strong now. I'm interested if any of these appear to be better as of now over the others. I'm more intrigued by utilizing the most strong distro over being determined to what I'm utilized to. I would like to utilize this odroid in whatever number distinctive regions as could reasonably be expected. ie: xbmc, some gaming, general web perusing and youtube. I've seen this jessie-xbmc distro and thinking about whether maybe I should utilize this over xubuntu, at any rate for now. XBMC until further notice is my fundamental enthusiasm of profit toys to play with on this however not constructing my entire setup just in light of that. Sorry for the long post yet would not like to post diff strings or just clarify half of what I'm attempting to truly pick up information of. Any individual that sets aside the opportunity to peruse this and give me some insight on these territories I truly do value it. I don't underestimate it and will show preemptive kindness with any information or opportunity later on. Much appreciated and I anticipate being a piece of this network.

Regards
Sunil Kumar

Since the emmc is a internal storage technology I don't know how you would install Linux alongside an android os on a tablet or smartphone w/o rooting it. Rooting it can be tricky be careful or you could turn the tablet or smartphone into a brick.

Generally with a desktop you would install Linux and Grub would be your bootloader.
You'll have to find out specifically what bootloader Android uses and it's performance and functionalities.
The bootloader may or may not play nice with Linux.

If you're going to be establishing a dual boot and this is going to be on a workstation and a server you may want to consider using CentOS. It's the free version of RHEL.

If I had to guess, yes.

I'd do more research to get confirmation on that.
A quick search revealed that the modules for Linux are different that the ones for Android.

You're going to need a member here with server/client experience for that question.
Sorry I'm not running a server class distribution.

IF the emmc is only 16 gb allocating 8gb to Linux and 8 gig's to the android system will not work IMO.
You will need a swap file at the very least and depending on how you partition you may need more room.

In the 7 years I've been coming here and have established professional relationships with men here that run server class distributions they have all had complete success with RHEL, CentOS and Ubuntu.

Do you have a test machine that you could use for this?

How many workstations do you have?

Your post doesn't make this clear, but I gather it's a tablet you're asking about. I would advise to stick with the original OS (presumably Android) unless you can get drivers for all your peripherals in linux - wifi, bluetooth, touch screen. Even identifying them is a PITA. I'm not aware of any tablet distro making ground on Android. OSS Improvements to it are possible, but maintenance is a nightmare.
If it's a PC, linux is good, much less inquisitive, all drivers available.
