Serious question - why continue to use a tape backup? Why not copy your data to a CD, or a backup hard drive? Storage is so cheap now that buying an extra 100G drive is fairly insignificant, and CD's are more durable than tape. My point is just that spending money on tape may not give you the biggest bang for your buck. -- J.W.

Tapes have 20-40 gigs of capacity, right?

They cost around 40 bucks each.

Better then any CD or DVD is you ask me.

And an extra 100 GB drive is insignifiant, but how about 10 of them? Can they be tranported easily?

Yes, I decided to buy a new harddisk for an backup, DAT is cool, but the system costs quite a lot. Thanks for help.
