please need urgent help!
My computer blocks most of the times during the "boot" process, right before presenting the IDE detection messages!
This cant be bout the OS cause it locks long before even entering lilo.
I have to turn off the power supply sometimes once or twice before I can get the system booting (just shutting off the pc wont work! I have to turn it off through the power supply!).
I loaded default settings on my bios and that wont work either!
Pleeease help!

What do you mean by "blocks"? How old is the machine, and the power supply?
Good luck.
