please help newbie with sound card

I just installed a slackware 9 on a old machine of mine. (P233 128M ram) and then was given a soundcard from a friend, I thought it would be simple I could just uncomment the right thing in the rc.modules file, reboot and jam.

Wrong.

I have a Avance ALS4000 chipset on this card and don't see that in the modules file. I am not sure which one to change or if I can add anything in their to make it work or what. I need some help please.

I have been reading a few things but none of them pertain to Slack I have also posted what the computer tells me when I run a 'lspci -v' below

00:0b.0 Multimedia audio controller: Avance Logic Inc. ALS4000 AudioChipset
Subsystem: Avance Logic Inc. ALS4000 Audio Chipset
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 64, IRQ 5
I/O ports at 6800 [size=128]
Capabilities: [dc] Power Management version 2

Are you getting any errors or is sound just not working? Have you loaded the right modules? What's the output of lsmod?

I am not able to get any module to load right so I don't get any sound just errors during the startup. I have added the display of my lsmod so you can see it.

Module Size Used by Not tainted
soundcore 3332 0 (autoclean)
ide-scsi 8048 0
tulip 41248 1

I wasn't able to find any module for it. There is an alsa module, though. They're quite good actually. Just go to www.alsa-project.org and follow the instructions.
