Please, a little help with iommu and Asrock b450m pro4-f
I'm on a B450M PRO-4-f Asrock. CPu is ryzen 3100.
I have two cards, one is AMD Radeon hd, another one is Nvidia GT710.
The first card is in the second slot, and is the main card.
The second card is in the last slot, and I want to pass it via pci passtrough
to a Windows guest, host system is Linux Slackware Current.
There is only one problem..the ATI card (used on host) is in the iommu group 16
and the nvidia is in the group 15, as you can see from this output there is a lot of devices on group 15, so if i want to use the windows guest i have to pass it a lot of devices and this is impossible(i have to pass the ethernet card too!).

An easy solution can be: use a new cpu(sic!) with integrated gpu but i have bought recently this 3100 without gpu and I cannot spent other money for another cpu.
A better solution was: use the card in iommu group 15(change ati with nvidia, or using nvidia as host card and pass ati ) but I cannot found on the bios the setting of primary device to use for output, I don't know also if is possible or not.
Someone can help, any suggestion?

If you want the 710 to be primary, why not try putting it in the X16 slot closest to the CPU?
Do you really think the 710 can't do better alone than playing second fiddle to a 4 year older 5450? Maybe you should give removing the 5450 a try?
Please incorporate a read of this primer into your planning and experiments.

I have already tried the first slot, is the same thing.
This board is cheapest and is not good for vfio passtrough, my old asus m5a97 was better(unfortunately it died some months ago), i have passed it(without any problem) a Matrox, a Nvidia(some problems) and two different Ati cards.
Next time before buy a mobo i will search for better vfio support.
This board probably will work with ACS patch, but imho is a little dangerous.

Asrock lists version 2.40 as the latest released 11/19/2020

but probably iommu is disabled in bios...wait..reboot

Nothing change, they put in a iommu group a lot of devices some of them impossible for passtrough to a virtual machine(ethernet card, sata controller!).
If you try to use those workarounds(I had tested it before) those are the results
a) A cpu with vega graphic card integrated for host + nvidia card for guest in the first or latest pci-e slot #the system boot but iommu group include the ethernet card + sata controller, so is useless.
b) A cpu with vega graphic card integrated for host + nvidia card for guest in the medium pci-e slot #the system get vga output from nvidia card if inserted or don't boot at all
c)A single gpu(sic!) in medium slot for host, you can pass the card to a virtual machine, but only if you do init3, after use the virtual machine and shutdown it the screen become black, but you can shutdown host using acpi-button or ssh and shutdown(sic!)
This board is simply useless for vga-passtrough, is only good for daily desktop use.
Someone known a micro-atx with a decent iommu groups?

So is possible only to do a "single gpu passtrough", because the system get vga ouput ONLY from card on second slot which use the group 16(i had tried the other slots and fail, in bios there is no option to change the "boot" vga gpu).
The only "solution" to get a normal gpu passtrough is
a)change motherboard with some decent one, and probably this is what I will do next months
b)use the acs patch but honestly I don't trust this solution

I have tried the ACS patch, and honestly no problem with 5.15.1. i use two ATI cards, and passing the second(but lspci see it as first!) vga to the guest.
So I consider the problem solved
If someone with the same hw need help those are my conf files.
