Hi,
I have installed a Pioneer dvr-111d onto my debian sarge system running 2.4.27-2-386. However it will not write cd's or dvd's very fast. I can write a full dvd allthough it seems to start writing at 8x but drops to 0.5x quickly.
I have installed the dvd-tools etc and have been using k3b, i have also installed nerolinux, but that said it didn't detect it and i need to use the SCSI drivers.
I think i have figured out i need to use some kind of scsi emulation for my drive as i'm using kernel 2.4. Is this correct?
If i had kernel 2.6 would it be suported automatically?
I think i might just reinstall with a new 2.6 kernel, just don't really want to as i have done it about 6 times in the last week. Took me 22 hours to get my nvidia drivers to work
Am i correct?
Thanks
Sean
