pinnacle tv-card, no sound

Hi,

I recently installed mandrake 10.1, with the 2.6 kernel so finally my saa7134 based tvcard should work nicely because of the new v4l modules. On install the card was properly detected and an shortcut to kdetv was placed on the desktop.
When i started the kdetv application it started looking for channels and also found them, but after that, kdetv complained that it could grab the video-stream and suggested i played with the v4l-plugin settings. So i looked at the plugin settings and discovered that i only could get a working television screen when i set the video4linux plugin off, and the Xvideo plugin on. This works for getting the moving images, but unfortunately, no sound, just noice..

does somebody have an idea what could be wrong?

tnx - Floris

i discoverd that the v4l-plugin works when i put overlay on. Also xawtv works when i say -device /dev/video1, and i tried a couple of nonstandard(/dev/dsp1,/dev/video1) sounddevices with xawtv, but no result, no sound...

problem solved!

just had to add "options tda9887 qss=0" to my /etc/modprobe.conf joehoe! :D I *think* this causes the module of the soundchip(tda98xx) to be loaded...
