Philips GoGear MP3 SA1300 player with Linux
 

Hi,

I have a Philips GoGear SA1300 series MP3 player. I can mount it in Linux (Mandriva 2006) as a USB mass-storage device and transfer my songs to it without a problem. (This is not the other series of GoGear which requires the database BTW). However, if I plug the GoGear in after booting Linux, it does not charge the GoGear's battery (charging is via USB) - but if I plug it in during boot (before USB has been loaded), then it will begin to charge and it works fine.

Needless to say, I don't want to have to reboot my computer every time I want to charge my MP3 player; does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can make it charge properly whilst the computer is booted?
