permission setting of a scanner?

Hi,

I am running linux from scratch current cvs, and was wondering how to get my scanner running. Sane recognizes wy scanner as root, but not as a reular user. How do I set the permissions for a scanner?

thanks in advance

Hello,

If you are able to scan with the root account then your scanner is well recognized. Next, did you add your regular user account to the scanner group?
To do it "gpasswd -a <user> scanner", log off and log on again to see if the change are took into account.

Hope that help.
