Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

PERC H710P support?

Hi all,

I am building a server and wanted to know if Debian has support for the PERC H710P RAID controller?

Never used hardware RAID on a linux server before and wanted to know!

Thanks!

Hardware RAID logical units should just show up as block devices like any other disk. Dell supplies the perccli command line tool for managing the controller. Last I checked (when it was storcli) it had Ubuntu and RedHat support, so likely to be runnable on Debian.

I suggest putting storage servers on a UPS with tested shutdown and startup operation and monitoring for failed disks.
