Thumbs down Pen Drive not recognised - RHEL 4

Hi All,

when I insert my pen drive into the USB drive, the Red Hat AS 4 that I have on my desktop, does nto recognise it. The same gets readily recognised in windows... does it have anything to do with file system?
(I think the pen drives file system is Fat32)

But I remember once when I was in a training and was working on Red hat 9, this pen drive got recognised, as an icon on the desktop!

I haven't formatted the pen drive since then, hence the file system should be same as it was earlier as well!

Thanks

could you post the output of 'dmesg | tail' after you plugin your pen drive.

What kernel version are you using? 'uname -r'

fdisk -l will show it as a device with the filesystem as vfat.
