PCtel driver Red Hat8
 
I have Red Hat 8 and i have Pctel modem
I want to make it working so i ask where i can download the best driver

Yeah, the drivers worked - my modem is recognized. I just can't get the dialler to actually connect with it. But the drivers are doing their job and maybe you won't have the same problems with the script that I do.

As far as compiling them, you need to know the chipset of the modem - not just the brand name. Do 'lspci -n' and go to http://yourvote.com/pci to find out the chipset if you don't know it. Then pass that when you compile as './configure --with-hal=name of your chipset'. As long as you have a full installation with kernel sources - the includes, at least, you should be fine. It's basically just ./configure, make, make install with that one twist. :)
