PCMIA modems compatible under Linux???

I own a laptop with two pcmia slots available. I'd like to know if pcmia modems are compatible with Linux before I buy one...
I have a Toshiba Satellite PIII 850 and I use RedHat 7.3.

I use a Xircom RealPort with Linux and it works just fine.

I have a Dell Inspiron 8100 and the 3 COM 56K PCMIA works great.

I am running SuSE 7.3 linux, on my laptop, which had win98 installed. and i need to know how to get the modem workin on linux or where i can get a linux compatible modem for laptop from. Does anyone know?
