PCMCIA_socket0 : time out after reset

Found some gear call Gumstix cool little devices; however they do come with their own set of problems.

Linux version which is running on the system Gumstix is 2.16.15gum. It has a ethernet interface and a compactflash socket have a compactflash to PCMCIA adapter which will allow for a wireless card to be inserted.

When the Gumstix first boot there is an error of PCMCIA_socket0: time out after reset. When a lsmod is preformed orinoco_cs and pcmcia are both loaded, but when a pccardctl info is request all fields are empty.

When the card is pulled and reinserted into the slot pccardctl info returns
PRODID_1="Lucent Technologies"
PRODID_2="WaveLAN/IEEE"
PRODID_3="Version 01.01"
PRODID_4=""
manfid=0156,0002
Funcid=6

Why do I need to pull the card and reinsert why will not work from boot?
Any ideas will help I am fresh out.
