PCMCIA in redhat9

my screen:

[root@localhost root]# /etc/init.d/pcmcia start
Starting PCMCIA services: Yenta IRQ list 0000, PCI irq11

[root@localhost root]# lsmod

no card

no card

I HAVE an orinoco card in. there are no lights lighting up on beeps...
nothing...WTF IS UP! this is pissing me off. i have been working on this for
5 days now!

is the card dead? can you check it on another computer?
