PCMCIA block device
how would i i configure my system and/or kernel to use pcmcia base block devices (such as flash cards or microdrives)

well, i got it to work, as it would turn out all i had to do was compile in some modules into the kernel, such as
pcmcia ide...
and poof, the flashcard i have emulates an ide drive so it worked

excellent. its always nice when it works right off the bat like that. course you learn more when it doesn't... but too much of that can get really frustrating.
