Unhappy pci - usb card troubles

I'm kinda new to this whole Linux thing, and I've stumbled across a problem that seems unsolvable to me.

I'm trying to get my alcatel speedtouch usb modem to work through a pci-usb card. The card itself is detected (I think) but it doesn't seem to register any hardware that I plug into it.

(I'm using Mandrake 9 as my distro)

After digging around on this forum, I've found some commands that might give you an idea as to what's going on.

--> lspci -v gives the following :

Quote:
00:02.0 USB controller : ALI Corporation USB 1.1 controller ( rev 03) (prog-if 10 [OHCI])
FLAGS : BUS MASTER , MEDIUM DEVSEL, LATENCY 32, IRQ 9

00.0b.0 USB controller : Via Technologies, Inc. USB (rev 50) (prog-if 00 [UHCI])

Flags : bus master , medium devsel , latency 32 , Irq 12
I/O ports at e800 [size = 32]
Capabilities : [80] power management version 2

00:0b.2 USB controller : Via Technologies, Inc. USB (rev 51) (prog-if 20 [EHCI])
Subsystem : VIA technologies, Inc. (wrong ID) unknown device 1234
Flags : bus master , medium devsel , latency 32 , Irq 5
memory at e6000000(32-bit, non prefetchable) [size=256]
Capabilities: [80] Power Management version 2
(It seems to go wrong somewhere in those last 2 entries)

--> lsusb -v gives the following output :
