After 19 views, there were no replies.......... Does this mean that, there are no chances of sending message from one linux pc to another or does this mean that no 1 know how to answer it....

cheers.....

try "mesg" if you want to pass messages over a lan

use 'write' or 'wall'.wall sends the message to all the users logged in.

use the other users login id with write.all the users who has logged in can be seen by 'finger' or 'w' or 'who'.
