Partition not recognized in Linux

Hey,
Im a newbie running Fedora Core 2 x86_64 and i installed it successfully about a month ago in a dual boot config with XP. I have XP on its own hard disc and I have another hard disc that i partitioned for linux(ext3) and storage (FAT32) for both OS's to use. After having a severe problem with xconfig and my ATI graphics card (no 64bit ATI drivers!) i decided to reinstall after I got my new nVidia card. My problem is that while I had the first installation both OS's were able to see, read, and use the FAT32 storage partition, but after reinstalling FC2 I was unable to see my storage drive. XP can still use it fine, so i know i didn't accidentally format it, but i can't find it in my filesystem in linux. Any suggestions?

What exactly are you trying to do to mount it?

And also, what is the layout of all your HD's (partition, slave, master, bus)

more info

ok this is how my hard drives are set up....
my master is a WD 120GB that is completely NTFS
my slave is a WD 200GB that has about 80GB in ext3 for linux and about 110GB in FAT32 for both OS's to use.

in the previous install of FC2 that FAT32 partition was labeled as /storage/ and it is not showing up in my fstab.
i think it was labeled as hdb4 also in my previous install. this is what my fstab shows:

LABEL=/ / ext3 defaults 1 1
LABEL=/boot /boot ext3 defaults 1 2
none /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0
none /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0
none /proc proc defaults 0 0
none /sys sysfs defaults 0 0
/dev/hdb5 swap swap defaults 0 0
/dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom udf,iso9660 noauto,owner,kudzu,ro 0 0
/dev/cdrom1 /mnt/cdrom1 udf,iso9660 noauto,owner,kudzu,ro 0 0
/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy auto noauto,owner,kudzu 0 0

hope that info helps some.

Try adding this line to your fstab

/dev/hdb4 /storage vfat users,rw,noauto

and make sure /storage exists (mkdir /storage)

ok, i added that line to fstab and now i can see the folder in my filesystem, but there is nothing in it. when i try to mount hdb4 it give this back:

mount: can't find /hdb4 in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab

do i need to change something in mtab also?

You should never edit the mtab file.

What did you type in for the mount command? Did you try
mount /storage
or
mount /dev/hdb4

To see how the drive is partitioned login as root using the su command and enter the following.
fdisk -l /dev/hdb (that is a small L)
