partion problem
I have partitioned hard drives since the days of DOS and fdisk but I am very confused and welcome any and all input. I’m not a nikki new guy but could really use the help.
The drive is an 80 gig Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 ( ST380011a ) At first I thought the drive just went belly up. Not the case. It will accept any version of Linux that I thought at it. I have loaded three. A couple of Redhat(s) and even an ancient Caldera release. I have attempted six(6) wintel installs. XP pro (corp, retail, & OEM); and Server 2003(corp, retail & OEM). With any Windows CD/DVD disk I receive a very simple but terse BIOS message... Error loading operating system.... The box is a Compaq Presario SR1420 NX I am fishing here... Did I accidentally fat finger a BIOS setup somewhere ??? that makes Mr. Gates not like me? Thank you in advance for any input! |
Hi,
You should check the BIOS for the virus check setting. |
