Pairing Bluetooth keyboard Logitech K480

I am running Mint 18, recently purchased the K480 and absolutely no help from Logitech in pairing sequence. Their suggestion was driver scan. and when I clicked on that option it was going to use reimage and I have a PC in closet that never recovered from a reimage occurance believe it or not. So if driver is problem is there any way to do it without reimage. Thanks for any suggestions. Should you desire a one on one

I'm not sure how Mint 18 compares with Debian 9, but I wrote a simple how-to on how I paired a Logitech bluetooth keyboard in Debian 9 (because the specific commands used were very different from the last time I did it).

https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...-how-to-37550/

Basically, I had to install both bluetooth and this pulse-audio bluetooth module (even though none of the bluetooth devices I was pairing had anything to do with audio):

Code:
apt-get install bluetooth pulseaudio-module-bluetooth
And then I had to use the command "bluetoothctl -a" to get the pairing done:

Code:
bluetoothctl -a
scan on
pair 00:1F:20:91:C7:8C
<type passkey on bluetooth keyboard>
connect 00:1F:20:91:C7:8C
trust 00:1F:20:91:C7:8C
quit
Anyway, there is no need to install any sort of Logitech specific drivers. Just generic bluetooth and pulseaudio-module-bluetooth. It's not hard to do, it's just that there's not some obvious instructions somewhere saying what to do (and what order to do it in!).

With my Logitech K810, which is a pretty similar device, I put it in pairing mode by pressing and holding one of the 3 device buttons. The K480 has a 3 position dial instead of 3 device buttons so I don't know how to put it into pairing mode.
