Overclocking problem with nvclock

I've been messing around with overclocking my Gforce2 MX/400 with nvclock for a few days now. I've been able to raise the core mhz from 120 all the way to 200 and the memory from 120mhz to 180 and keep the system stable.

The problem is this: I've been able to do all these things but most of the time when I raise the speed of the card from 120 (core or memory) to any other number it crashes instantly. Is there anything like in windows to test the settings before I apply them? I've even mounted a fan ontop the heatsink on the card and the problem continues. I know its not a heat problem as the chip seems very very cool.
