Output to second monitor (TV) too big for screen

I have two monitors on my Ubuntu 11.04 system. One of the monitors is an Insignia 32" tv. My problem is that the output from the computer is too big for the screen (when windows are maximized they extend past the edge of the screen). I have tried changing settings on the tv which failed, and cant seem to find a way to do it with either my proprietary drivers or the standard Ubuntu Monitors thing.

My video card is a Radeon HD 4670.
Currently I am not using proprietary drivers

You can use 'xrandr' to adjust the overscan property. If you're not sure how, show us the output of 'xrandr'.
