Out of range monitor, geforce4 mx fedora core 6


When i boot my computer and the monitor is connected to my graphics card it shows an out of range message. when i use the vga port it works. im not sure of what to do, im not familiar with fedora core 6.

you probably use old monitor which not support the resolution or frequency, please edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf, change it to lower resolution 1st.

Have you tried the NVIDIA Linux driver? Granted I don't know a lot about this stuff, but the first thing I noticed after loading it was that my display finally centered properly as compared to my Windows machine (I'm using a KVM) and the NVIDIA driver installs software to change the configuration (refresh rates, etc) for you.
