If you installed it with the HDD in one pc its very unlikely its ever going to boot in another pc since the basic hardware should be exactly the same on both then.

Installing on a pc with two drives should not be a problem, just wondering what you used to format the drives.

its a custom comp with a gateway case gutted out the old parts put mine in had a 20gig hard drive but was currupt and no good so all i had left was 3 old 3.2 gigs i took out of peoples comps i repaired.

before i gutted an old gateway out and took its old 3.2gig out but before that the comp had window$ $95 on it so i used Dos to format it so i would be empty so i could use it on my custom comp

If you can, try booting with the knoppix cd and partition your drives using qtparted instead of DOS.

I have used DOS to format a drive, but it caused a lot of problems during the linux install. So I found ranish partition manager and used that it worked much better than DOS. Since then I have used Knoppix to partition and format my drives.

Also have you tried any other distros to see if they would boot?
I say this because for me Mandrake can be a nortorious pain in the ......

i can try SUSe or knoppix i ve been looking at those but the reason i didnt download suse is cause the personal version doesnt have any multimedia nor good internet capabilities as read in reviews but i like the way it looks never tried knoppix but heard it at the top with Suse mandriva fedora or red hat and slackware
thnx for the help got madrake to boot but considering getting a bigger hdd as suggested by others got 3x
3.2 gigs

knoppix is cool because it is a live CD- which means you can mess with linux with out worrying too much about hardware detection. I like cfdisk for partitioning- it seemed to work better than qtparted- for me anyway.
