LinuxQuestions.org - OpenSuse 13.2 and HDMI support on Radeon not working

I have an AMD Radeon video card with HDMI, which doesn't seem to function anymore.It has been working, and still works if I boot from the original install cd. When I review the hardware information: "Driver Status: radeon is not active".
When I search the web, I usually find threads about the HDMI giving sound problems. That is not it.
The problem is probably also the user. The system is frequently used and I am a bit careful on trying too much without the necessary cautiousness, as my other system is experiencing HW issues/bad RAM currently....
I only found one article on the distri's site: https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Radeon#R...ver_if_present , but just hesitant in trying as I need this system now. With the right advice?
