openSUSE 12.2 64bit difficulty to mount Sony Ericsson C510

Hello,

I am having troubles to mount the SE C510 as a mass storage.
The problem is that the kernel even doesn't notice i have plugged in the phone.
My goal is just to mount it to transfer data(photos) from phone to linux.
Interesting is that if i run command "modem-manager" it tries to load some plugins.
Here's output from lspci,lsusb,/var/log/messages:
Code:
andy-pc:/dev # lsusb

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thank you.

Am i right in guessing that KDE4 is the DE you are using
or are you trying to use Gnome3

and that this is a usb2 device and cable

for kde
there should be a pop up on the lower right of the DE when you plug in the usb cable
Asking what to do with it

SUSE is very GUI centric

plug in the phone and open yast2
then under " Hardware" run " Hardware Information"
after the scan
look in the usb section
it should be there

Thank you John VV, i will try that(can't now).
But isn't that strange i don't see new device /dev/sdb1? otherwise i can't mount it.
BTW i am suing KDE but in lower right corner the pop up window isn't showing up but for regular USB stick it does.
Isn't there missing some driver or kernel module for SE devices?

Thank you.

there is also a small icon ( looks like a tv screen) next to the volume in the lower right

it is the device notifier
