onboard ethernet unrecognized in suse 9.0 pro
Hello there!
I'm a linux newbie attempting to create a sort of hobby project for my household. The long is that I'd like to have a linux box accessable to the members of my house nomatter where they go, the short is that I cannot get suse 9.0 pro to recognize my ethernet card.
I can configure it, but it does nothing. Ifconfig -a doesn't even show eth0 existing. I can ping the local loopback, but that's it. I cannot see the router that it is physically connected to, or anything else beyond that. I've checked the cords with other computers on the network and they all work.
I have SuSE 9.0 Pro, but that's because it's what I have laying about and what I'd prefer to learn. Help?
