Oki Printer 3200

Hi folks sigh I have googled an googled for this is there a driver for this printer in linux? If not is there a way around to get it to work? This is the only piece of kit I cannot get to work I am using Mandriva 2007 official, amd 3000 and 1gb mem.

Yea I have read its supposed to be a lead sinker as far as nix goes but with all thr bright peeps out there you would think someone has found a fix. I even called the coy and they said no way they were going to write a driver for it. I am printing from a win2000 box but that really defeats the purpose of fully turning over to the NIX side lol.

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Okidata 3200 is not listed in, C3200 is classified as paperweight.

As you can see, Okidata does not offer a Linux version of the necessary driver for the 3200. That's not a shortcoming of Linux, but rather is due to Okidata's decision to ignore the Linux market for this printer.

Personally I'd recommend switching to an HP printer, they generally are extremely well supported under Linux and last forever. I've got an 10 year old LaserJet 5P that still works great and performs perfectly under Linux. Used models are pretty cheap - a few months ago I saw a For Sale ad for one, for only $35
