The most likely explanation is that your modem is a winmodem. This is a modem whose electronics have been stripped to the bare bones and the deficit made up with a Windows driver. Some winmodems have Linux drivers and many do not. When I faced this problem 3 years ago I threw away my winmodem and bought an external serial dialup modem which has never failed me. ___________________________________ Be prepared. AHA soemone finally told me something logical!!why yes..so..hmm
i wonder if virt pc has a generic linux driver?..or whatever..but that certainly seems to be the right idea..all i get everyelse i the same stuff.. insanity is the act of doing something over and over expecting the same result..(wise old drunk) |
