ok network problem with the cisco e3200 router and cisco se2800 switch to ps3

hello Ok the title wasn't long enough so anyway when I take my ps3 online to play my connection was very low where I had lag and i noticed that it only happens when I'm downloading on my ubuntu computer not windows. So what I did was disconnected the ubuntu off of the switch and connected it to the router and it actually helped with the connection. But still I have problems with it going in and out. Does anybody have any idea how to get into the switch from the terminal or is there another way about fixing this or is it "it is what it is" thank you
