[solved] Odd soundcard problem Ensoniq/Via
[SOLVED]
Alright, I have onboard VIA audio and a Soundblaster 16 PCI (Ensoniq 1371), running on Redhat 9.
If I go into "Soundcard Detection" it detects both soundcards. If I choose VIA as my primary soundcard and try to test the Ensoniq, the Ensoniq will play a test sound. If I choose Ensoniq as primary and test VIA, VIA will play the test sound.
Those are the only configurations that work. Obviously you can see my dilemma, when a soundcard is set as Primary, I cannot get anything to play.. grr.. any ideas?
I just disabled onboard Audio in the BIOS settings and the Ensoniq still refuses to work.
(Edit: problem solved after using /dev/dsp1 as output).
