Nvidia graphics card drivers problems :(

I have changed from ATI suckage to NVIDIA. I use now GF4 TI440. I booted to init 3.
Then i downloaded drivers from nvidia page (NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-7667-pkg1.run). And they installed nicely, module was compiled also ok. I ran SAX2 -m 0=nvidia. this also went fine.

Then i edited my xorg.conf as it says in readme from nvidia. Everyting works ok as off 3D support.

It just says than 3d support is not enabled. In sax it says that it is enabled. I use SUSE 9.2 btw.

This is clearly wrong. But what have i done wrong by install ?? Maybe because i jst installed drivers no matter that i had ATI card before on the system ?

Please help me i was on sea side and came home bought some old nvidia card to finaly be able to play some ut2004 on linux, and performance of this GF4 TI4400 will be 500% better than ATI Radeon 9800pro ... on linux that is

And there is no loaded module called nvidia for some reason.

thx

tomazN,

See this link that is on Nvidia's driver download pages - it may apply to you

ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/sup...nstaller-HOWTO

Also, just to double check, in your xorg.conf file, in the "device" section, did you change the driver from "nv" to "nvidia"? If the X server uses the "nv" (generic, open-source driver) then the GLX extension is not loaded.

Hope this helps
