Hi All,
Here is the deal ...
I've read a lot of threads about problems of TVOut with some kind of NVidia chipset based video cards.
Mine is quite different, i just have another screen i want to connect to my pc. My Card is an GeForce4 based MSI card bundled with a Monitor Adpater.
After reading Appendice I in the following document Nvidia document , it seems the best config is the following
But when restarting X, my First CRT monitor went black with a yellow led saying ( i presume ) nothing is coming from the video Card. BUT, it is ok on the second screen ( TV OUT )
You really need to be more clear with what you have and what your trying to do.. I read this as..
I have a monitor with Dual out capability. And your trying to have a Monitor on the Monitor port, and a second monitor, hooked to the tv port with an adapter...
If this is the case. You actually need to set your XF86Config file with 2 drivers, 1 driver for each output.
On my 440 Go! Card I have to set it up with nvidia for the first monitor, and i810 for the second...
Ok will try it explain in a better way
I have a dual port MSI Video Card based on a Ti 4200 Chipset.
First port is for the current monitor and the second port ( which can be used as a tvout ) can accept a second monitor.
When i've added these lines to the XF86Config file to switch on the TwinView
Well another thing to say :
I've tried to come back to the initial settings... and still the same thing. My 19 inches monitor is still off and my second is ok.
The only solution is to swap both screens
